The Attack Surface Visibility and Analysis (ASVA) team is responsible for data mining efforts to identify and understand the firm’s Attack Surface. The team utilizes enterprise systems of record, systems of origin and other available data stores to deliver a comprehensive, reliable and timely view of the Bank’s attack surface and potential for vulnerability exploitation, with the goal of enabling answers to the following three questions:
• Do we have it?
• Are we vulnerable?
• Is it exploitable?
This role is the manager of the ASVA team, reporting to the Attack Surface & Vulnerability Management executive in the Cyber Security Assurance organization within Bank of America’s Global Information Security (GIS) team. ASVA includes experienced teammates who utilize technology tools (for example, Hue (Hive and Impala), Power BI, SQL Server, , MS-Reporting Services (SSRS), MS-Integration Services (SSIS), Cloudera, .NET and Python) to create queries, reporting and visualizations for Global Information Security decisionmakers and operational teams. This managerial role is accountable for setting strategic direction for ASVA, ensuring delivery of timely, high quality and actionable analysis, and coordinating with other GIS and technology teams on key projects and deliverables.
Key ASVA focuses include:
Drive thought leadership on transformation of existing vulnerability management activities to effectively meet operational demands/dependencies and improved analysis and risk stratification
Identification and integration of critical data sources relevant to vulnerability management into next-generation vulnerability management platform and related processes
Collaboration with stakeholders to create repeatable and defensible processes to identify asset-specific risks and mitigating factors within the environment
Improved automation of research activities and greater integration of ASVA output into enterprise vulnerability management processes
Leverage expertise in data and asset analysis to develop proactive (rather than reactive) pathways for escalation of hidden gaps in controls or processes
Establish an evaluation and feedback dialog with stakeholders and partners to proactively address lessons learned
Strategic thinker able to clearly articulate future state and develop action plans to accomplish goals
Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively with technology/development and business partners
Team-oriented, collaborative leader – need to trust and inspire the team
Persistent, outcome-driven approach to problem solving

10+ years of Information Technology experience, including infrastructure management and reporting. Experience in information security is preferred but not required.
Hands-on experience with large datasets and tools including data ingestion (batch & real time), transformation and delivery
